Travis Kelce and Kayla Nicole started their romance in 2017, after the NFL star reportedly slid into her DMs with flirtatious messages.

Their relationship was anything but straightforward, marked by multiple breaks before ultimately ending in 2022.

Now, their past time together is back in the limelight, as Kelce made headlines by proposing to Taylor Swift after two years of dating.

Many of Swift's fans have been commenting on Nicole’s social media after the news, prompting Kayla's supporters to label the Swifties as 'weird' and request that they leave her alone.

Kayla opened up about her breakup with the Kansas City Chiefs player when she appeared on a reality TV show.

The sports journalist and presenter was featured in series 3 of Special Forces: World's Toughest Test where she candidly expressed her sadness about being single.

She read a letter she had penned, stating: "In all honesty, there's a part of me that wishes I was addressing this farewell to my husband and kids too. I always thought by this time in my life, I would have that family."

During the show, she also praised Taylor: “I really like, like, her. I think she’s incredibly talented.”

After their breakup, Barstool Sports attributed the split to Travis being 'cheap'.

Kayla addressed this on the Unapologetically Angel podcast, joking: "Do I look like someone who would split anything?"

"He addressed that as well. I don’t even know why that rumor started," she asserted, labeling it 'ridiculous'.

"That was never an issue in our relationship, but it definitely became an internet rumor." She also tweeted: "Not sure where y’all got this nonsense from, but it’s absurd and very false.”

He refuted the 'cheap' rumors, explaining on The Pivot Podcast: “Don’t buy into that s***. I would never say I was supporting her. She had a very stable financial life with her career. But you'd be crazy to think I never helped or gave her money for food or vice versa. … We were together for five years. A hundred dollars here or there wasn’t even considered."

After the news of Travis and Taylor's engagement, Nicole broke her silence by sharing a post about the difference between happiness and joy.

Many of her fans hope she will find love again, though she admitted on the podcast that she plans to keep her future relationships private after her experience with Kelce.
