This was the dilemma that sports journalist Kayla seemingly faced when the couple went public in 2023, prompting her to appeal to Swift's fans everywhere.

With Travis and Taylor now engaged, attention seems to be on Kayla once again, with some people leaving 'odd' consolation comments on her social media.

Upon fans discovering that Taylor and Travis were officially together, Kayla was soon inundated with attention.

During an appearance on the Unapologetically Angel podcast last year, she shared her struggles and how challenging it was to cope.

“I would be lying if I said that the level of hate and online chaos doesn't affect me,” she admitted, adding: “It does. Even to this day.”

Kayla and Travis had an on-and-off relationship from 2017 to 2022, after Kelce reportedly slid into her DMs and began flirting with her.

In April 2024, Kayla made a heartfelt plea to Taylor's fans, posting on X: “I’m unproblematic. Mind my business. Never respond to the constant vitriol. Solid as they come & don’t expect a pat on the back for it either.

“Just know everyone has a breaking point & would love for ‘y’all’ (because you know exactly who you are) to leave me alone.”

She addressed the negative comments she continually received online, just for having dated the man Taylor was now seeing.

One fan even shared a makeup-free picture of her and posted a vomit emoji underneath it on X, prompting Kayla to respond: “YOU WILL NEVER MAKE ME HATE ME. Hang it upppppppp bookie.”

“It’ll be people debating why I’m worthless and how I’ll never be talented, that I have no career, and that I’m a bum,” she recalled of the comments, labeling it 'unfortunate'.

Kayla continued: “I think there’s something about that level of fame that attracts crazy people. And it’s unfortunate because I’ve never done anything to warrant that kind of backlash.”

As far as the public knows, Kayla has remained single since her split with Travis, but she mentioned that the experience has made her reconsider how much she shares publicly.

“I don’t see myself doing that anytime soon,” she admitted. “People can’t pick apart what they don’t know about, and I would just protect my relationships from here on out.”
